Music On Console has not been under development for quite a while now. However IMO it's still the best console music player out there. However if Mplayer is included as a module it would be easy enough to create a script to create an interface on the CLI for playing music. I think if Mplayer gets included we should just use that with a script to play music. Could create a script to find all music in a certain directory and add it to a play list for starters. Can always more involved and extend the script later with an interactive script later.
The live cd is not a persistent environment so why worry about some of those applications. MOC can always be included as an option when the Modular CD application is completed. However that doesn't keep mplayer running like a daemon which is one of my favorite features of MOC. I don't think there is anything wrong with MOC I think it should be included until Mplayer is merged into the Live CD again. I'm more likely to listen to music on a live cd than watch a movie.
