There are a couple things still holding up a release, but in the mean time we've set up a new site (http://backpack.epicvoyage.org/), new forums on that site, and a brand new Backpack-devel mailing list. You can submit bugs anonymously, but to post on the forums or to join the mailing list you will need to register on the site.
We hope that this will help us help you to get Backpack working the way you need it to.

Packages
Hi.
What about Java 6, and ProLog?
Hey
Currently, the JRE 1.5.0 release is being used (which is stock from Slackware). I'll talk to Ghorthas and see if he can create an updated package, and I will look into bundling prolog.
Errr
I'm look at putting together a package, Daga found a package already created by an italian Slackware community, but it is not the OpenJDK, if anything I would like to build a package for the OpenJDK instead of just using the "free" commercial version. I'll see what I can throw together this weekend.
